Maryanna + Adam’s Wedding Ring Story

These ring designs embrace the transient nature of passing moments that reveal the beauty of the present and the ritual of continuing to choose one another. They will evolve with their wearers, allowing the details to fade in and out, becoming an authentic representation of their time together.

Maryanna and Adam have been continually within each others orbit, in the same circle of friends, and always coming back around to one another. With this in mind, a circle is a strong symbol for them. Their rings complete a circle only when brought together. This becomes the space for a wabi sabi type of approach, where the high karat gold making up the circles, will dent, scratch, and hold markings of their adventures… possibly someday, requiring some “tending”.

Flowing behind and through these circles, are leaves inspired by stag horn ferns. These fronds meet a natural edge, visually much like the “the ocean coming to meet the shore.” Rhythmically carved notches line this edge, representing the ritual of continuing to choose one another. Much like a mala reminds us to stay focused on the present during meditation, or the way sharing a cup of tea brings us “home,” these notches represent coming together and continuing to “re-tie the knot.”
